Experiencing the Word of God

Partakers of the Divine Nature: What is Theosis?

"Just wanted to let you know how much all of us appreciated your remarkable comments on Faith and Medicine last week. Your observations about how it is impossible to heal the body without also healing the soul and the spirit were not only powerful, but also eloquently stated. Many have commented about how beautifully you capture what so many of us feel, but find very difficult to put into words. Thank you for helping us illustrate the strong interplay between faith and healing."

The Power of One "Yes" - How "Yes" can Change the Universe

"Let it be to me as you have spoken."  She said, "Yes!"  With this one "yes," Mary changed the way that all creation is restored, or saved. Her one "yes" transforms our relationship to God, to nature, and to one another. One person. One "yes" to Life.
Each of us has the potential to say "yes" to life, to respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.  Each of us could develop our soul to be aware of God’s intent and hear His promptings to our spirit.  By our response, we may become more of what God calls us to be. What we say "yes" to in our lives not only defines us, but impacts the world around us. How do we tune our souls into God’s voice? How do we have the courage to say "yes?" How do we discern the urgings of the Spirit from cultural influences, or just our own desires?
Come explore how Mary’s "yes" impacts us and how we can develop the "yes" potential within us. Perhaps we, too, can act out a "yes" that is heard throughout generations.

Forgiveness: Transforming Wounds into Wisdom

Forgiveness is a fundamental skill of our spiritual practice.  We are instructed by Christ to forgive 70 times 7. We pray for forgiveness "as we forgive the trespasses of others". However, many of us have been hurt and continue to feel burdened by the pain of that offense.  Many of us wish to be released from our resentment towards someone who has deeply hurt us. But how?  How can we turn our negativity into compassion? How do we know when we have truly forgiven? Do we forgive ourselves?
In this full day retreat and workshop, we explore the meaning of forgiveness, what it is, what it is not.  During breakout sessions, we will work through a process that will help us shift our view of ourselves, the offense, and the offender in a helpful and health-full manner.
