Forgiveness: Transforming Wounds into Wisdom

Transforming Turmoil Into Hope

"The topic was very timely as I’ve been frustrated by what my church is currently going through. My ah-ha moment at the retreat was that the negative thoughts I’ve had about this area of my life are interrupting my energies that should be directed to my relationship with God. I need to learn to be still and guard my innermost soul from these logosmoi."

The Mission

Photophoros, (meaning “light-bearer”) offers seminars and retreats designed to encourage and teach the spiritual seeker.

  • to attune one’s soul toward God,
  • to sensitize one’s body to one’s spirit, and
  • to heal both body and soul in an integrated fashion.

Our goal is to help people clarify their souls so that they may better radiate Christ’s energetic light, becoming light-bearers in the world.  While employing Orthodox Christian precepts and practice, seminars are open to Orthodox and non-Orthodox.

Photophoros Retreat House

Photophoros Retreat House, a home in a residential community, is located on the edge of 7700 acres of a wild life preserve.  The house offers a fun, relaxing and peaceful environment to renew our connection to that which is the deepest within us, the best part of us, and to the creator of the universe. In this comfortable setting, we will explore ways to kindle the light that lives in our own souls and to bear that light to beneficially illumine the world.
